Adding Video Testimonials on your Real Estate Website

It’s already a given that having your own real estate website boosts your image as an expert. Still, there is always a better way to improve your online reputation and adding video testimonials is certainly a good one.

  • Find the right clients. Think of past clients who were happiest with your service as an agent. Contact them and ask if they are willing to make a real estate video testimonial for you. More importantly, make sure you have their permission to use their name, photo, and other information you need to make the video authentic.
  • Be detailed. This goes for both information about the past client as well as details about your service. Given the amount of information on the internet, it is normal for other people to wonder if a testimonial can be trusted so make your video testimonial look and sound as genuine as possible. Request your past clients to identify themselves and if possible, mention their general location. However, if they insist to keep this info private, it’s only natural to respect their request. Ask them to describe what they liked about you as an agent and why they chose you. A snippet about their specific experience would be ideal.
  • Keep it Short. Written reviews on your real estate website shouldn’t be too long, otherwise people won’t bother reading a full page account. The same goes for your agent videos. Thirty seconds or a minute should be just right, lest you risk losing the attention of the audience. Remember that potential clients already have an idea of what they want, so there’s no need for information overload.
  • Use a Flip camera. A Flip camera is handy and user-friendly. It only uses two double A batteries. Its memory can store up to an hour’s worth of video. Also, it has its own USB port so it’s easy to transfer videos to your computer. If you can’t meet past clients to film a video testimonial with them, you can simply insure the Flip camera before mailing it to them. After they’ve recorded the video, they can send it back to you via postage paid mail package.
  • Edit wisely. You can’t control how long the original material will be, especially if you simply mail the Flip camera to your previous clients, so it is best to use a video editing tool. If you don’t already have it, download an easy-to-use program like Windows Movie Maker or something similar where you can easily cut the video and delete the unimportant parts.
  • Hire professionals. If you have the budget, it’s worth it to ask for the help of real estate video professionals. Make sure you give them all the information they need to help you make your agent videos or property videos. You can also check out some samples for ideas on how to make your real estate video more effective.

It seems like a lot of work initially, but adding video testimonials to your real estate website is definitely worth it. If nothing else, it’s a chance for your team to put new ideas together and to be creative about your branding strategy. There’s no need to sweat when you look at it as a great channel to improve your marketing efforts.
